Howdy Partners!!...
We woke to grey skies and rain, lots of rain, but by mid-morning the sun came out and so began a glorious Summers's day.
The garden - Mike's Ranch- was filled with aromatic smell of the BBQ, Hot Dogs, home-made Burgers and Spiced Chicken for everyone, all cooked by the Ranch Leader, Simon- our Head Chef.
John & Angie, our lovely Duo, dressed up as Cowboys and sang a Country & Western Set they had put together just for our party.
Our residents sat on the patio and under the events tent, wearing cowboy hats, Sheriff badges and even Indian feathers, we were delighted to see residents who had not attended events before joining in the fun. The visiting children filled the with laughter and bubbles, playing Net the Duck, Tin Can Alley, and Horseshoe Hoopla, and many other games.
The Garden Room became Mike's Saloon for the afternoon, serving Pimms, cold drinks and alcohol!
Nick & Sarah arrived with their Ice-Cream van, servi8ng cups pf tea and ice-cream to everyone.
A special visitor arrived...Pinkie the Shetland Pony. As her owner Zoe lead Pinkie in to the garden you could hear the gasps of surprise- a pony in the garden!! the residents stroked and patted the very gentle pony, many wanting to see her time and time again. The residents who could not attend were not left out as Pinkie visited them in their rooms as well!
the day was so much fun for residents, families, friends and staff, socialising and relaxing together. a big THANK YOU to them all. The Raffle we held raised £155 which will go towards the Residents Fund.
So, A final YE HAW! for a wonderful Wild West experience.

“My mum went into St Michael's Care for end of life care. The staff and home is just amazing and can't thank them enough for what they did for my mum, nothing was too much trouble. The care my mum received and the support to me was first class at such a painful time.”

“My mother had a short stay at St Michael's but she was looked after and cared for excellently. Mum was very poorly but nothing was too much trouble for the staff at St Michael's. It was a very caring home and kept spotlessly clean. There was plenty going on and the social team didn't leave those out who were unable to leave their rooms even if they went in and had a chat or read a book with them. Receptionist very kind and helpful.”

“Mum was living in St Michaels for just short of five years.
During her time there she received a very good standard of care.
The home was cleaned to a high standard.
The staff from top to tail showed respect whilst being cheerful and considerate.
Thank you.
Well done all.”
